A Workplace Assessment is conducted by trained professionals to gain a detailed understanding of the physical and environmental demand of the worker's duties as well as identify duties that are safe for the worker to perform whilst recovering from an injury.
It involves discussions with the worker and employer to gain an overview of the duties to be assessed, reviewing and assessing the duties (which includes taking measurements of heights, weights and forces required), analysing the worker's manual handling techniques and providing immediate advice and training in appropriate techniques, recommending workplace modifications and confirming OH&S policies to promote safe work practices.
